Chillicothe-Ross Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Marvin Jones announced he's retiring at the end of the year.

"I just felt that it was the right time for me to step down and let the chamber bring on somebody with some fresh ideas and some fresh enthusiam," said Jones.

During his 11 and a half years in the post, he was most proud of the Leader in Me program that was implemented within the Chillicothe City School District.

"The reception to that by the schools was just incredible, and the fact that chamber members have contributed more than $80,000 in the last four years to get this initiative going has been something else."

Jones expects the executive committee to meet in the near future to decide on seeking a replacement.
