Chillicothe Council Passes Tax Levy Ballot

Posted August 4th, 2014 @ 8:32pm by Kevin Coleman

In a 15-minute special session, council made final tweaks to 6 pages of legislation, and passed all of it.

Now it's up to the voters on the 0.4% combined city income tax increase to help fund street paving and safety services, each at 0.2%.

Patrick says her concern over restricting funds to only paving, and not "maintenance," will be resolved in budgeting.

With a week to go and many changes, Patrick says it was a group effort among council, the auditor, and the law director.

She says they also decided to limit the tax levy to ten years.
