Numbers from the Ohio Department of Transportation show there were 20,993 vehicle collisions involving deer in Ohio resulting in six fatalities and 1,013 injuries last year.
Of Ohio's 88 counties, Stark County had the highest number of deer collisions in 2012 with 558. Ross County was 17th in the state with 338.
Other numbers include:

*Highland County - 57th (181)
*Pike County - 72nd (134)
*Fayette County - 74th (113)
An untold number of additional deer-vehicle crashes go unreported to law enforcement.
If a vehicle strikes a deer, motorists should report the crash to local law enforcement, the sheriff’s department, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, or the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
