Fatal in Pike County

The Chillicothe Post is currently investigating a two vehicle fatal crash that occurred on US 23 in Pike County, shutting down all lanes of traffic for approximately three hours. On July 17th at approximately 1:50 p.m., John W. Mullins, 44, of Ironton, was operating a 1992 Toyota Tacoma southbound on US 23.  Mr. Karl R. Woodley, 70, of Ontario, Canada was operating a 2003 Kenworth Tractor northbound on US 23.  Mr. Mullins drove his vehicle left of center striking Mr. Woodley head-on in the northbound lanes.  

Mr. Mullins and his passenger, Geneva F. Mullins, 72, of Ironton, were pronounced dead at the scene by the Pike County Corner Dr. Kessler.  Mr. Woodley was treated and released at the scene by the Pike County EMS. 

The Chillicothe Post was assisted by Pike County EMS, Pike County Sheriff’s Office, Pee Pee Township Fire Department, Huntington Township Fire Department and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
