Funeral Flower Scam

Posted May 21st, 2014 @ 6:05am

You often hear of phone and e-mail scams, but now you can add "floral scam" to the list.

According to the Ohio Funeral Directors Association, a woman said she went to the site "Amy Florist," called the number provided, spoke to a live operator, and bought a floral arrangement. But, when she arrived at the funeral home, the flowers weren't there and attempts to reach the company for a refund were unsuccessful.

OFDA Assistant Executive Director Melissa Sullivan says if you are going to buy flowers for a funeral, Sullivan recommends contacting the funeral home for recommendations.
