On Friday, a Ross County Grand Jury indicted a Chillicothe man for an accident involving a man on a bicycle.

On November 9th, Chillicothe Police were dispatched to South Bridge Street, in reference to an injured subject being helped over the guardrail in the southbound lane. Upon arrival officers found two heavily damaged bicycles, as well as car parts from a white Chrysler.

The Defendant, Emmett Beeler had called 911 claiming to have struck a deer in that same area. When officers contacted Beeler at his Lunbeck Rd home they noticed he smelled of alcohol and his speech was slow.

Beeler failed a field sobriety test. Officers then checked his vehicle and found heavy front damage to the car and windshield as well as human blood and tissue. The car parts from the scene appeared to come from Beeler's vehicle.

Beeler was charged with two counts Aggravated Vehicular Assault (F3), one count Vehicular Assault (F4), and one count Failure to Stop After Accident (F5).

The Ross County Grand Jury returned 21 indictments on Friday.
