In case motorists have not noticed, the speed limit has changed for a few area four-lane highways.
Lt. Virgil Conley of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says higher posted speed limit are thanks to recent changes in state law.
Conley says locally, that impacts U.S. Route 35 and the far northern end of U.S. Route 23 north of Chillicothe.
Conley says no change will be seen for Route 23 south because of the number of access points, which would make it too dangerous to raise the speed limit there.
The changes were made earlier this week.
