The Chillicothe Police Department wants to see more neighborhood watch groups formed as statistics indicate that these groups have a positive impact on decreasing the crime rate, according to Officer Bud Lytle.

"Crime goes down in those areas simply because there are people involved," said Officer Lytle, who added forming these groups is as simple as contacting the police department, which will provide the resources needed to get the group started.

"Essentially, our neighborhood watches are structured on a foundation of neighbors looking after neighbors," said Officer Lytle.

Call Officer Lytle at 773-1191 or email for more information.
