The Chillicothe Police Department has received a $1,290 grant that provides training for one of their officers, to become a certified trainer on "active shooter scenarios".
Police Officer Bud Lytle says they already receive training on such emergencies, but details the difference in what is called A.L.I.C.E. Training.
The acronym A.L.I.C.E. stands for "Alert, Lockdown, Informed, Counter and Evacuate".
Marsha Bevins, president of the Ross County Safety Council says they got involved because they want to do things to make the whole community safer, not just in work-place safety.
