For the first time since the economic downturn, United Way of RossCounty has exceeded its campaign goal.

"This year, our goal was $575,000, and we raised $585,190.76," said Martha Watson, campaign co-chair. "That takes us to 101.8%, and we were thrilled because, even though this just our final report, the campaign still continues on throughout the year."

The campaign funds will benefit numerous agencies and community programs within RossCounty.

"The strength of any community is found in the generosity of its people, and so Ross Countians stepped up this year and really showed that they do care about their friends and neighbors in need," said Campaign Co-Chair Joe Watson.
