Columbus Boy Dies Of Fentanyl

Homicide detectives are investigating the July death of a Columbus boy after an autopsy revealed that he overdosed on fentanyl.

Columbus Police say 12-year-old Kanye Champelle was found choking on the floor of an East Side apartment he was visiting in July and died two days later.

The Franklin County coroner's office recently completed its final autopsy report and says the boy died of a lethal dose of fentanyl.

Police are investigating where and how the boy came in contact with the powerful opioid.
