The SVC Girls Basketball race will come down to the final night of regular season play, to determine whether Southeastern will win another undisputed championship or share the crown with Unioto.

The Lady Shermans stayed in the hunt Monday night with a 59-46 win at home over the Huntington Lady Huntsmen, that was originally scheduled for January 30th, but postponed due to bad weather. There was some question as to whether that would happen a second time when both schools closed due to icy roads Monday morning. But, when road conditions dramatically improved by noon, the game was on.

Both teams shot poorly in the first quarter, with Unioto at 19% and Huntington at 15%, with the Lady Shermans leading at that stop 9-6. The Tanks improved to 46% in the second quarter and took a 27-13 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Unioto built a 31-19 lead early in the third quarter, only to see Huntington go on an 8-0 run when they connected on two treys and another field goal making it 31-27. After a Unioto time out, the Lady Shermans went on a 10-3 run of their own to take a double-digit lead they never relinquished.

The Lady Shermans had balanced scoring with Summer Sigman leading the way with 16 points, followed by Carly Adkins 13, 9 each for Cree Stulley and Emily Coleman and 7 from Amber Cottrill. Stulley also had 15 rebounds.

Huntington's Braiden Collins scored 16 points and Shyanne Conley added 13, with Kelsey McDonald scoring 9.

Unioto shot 19/50 for 38%- including 6/16 from the arc and were 15/26 at the charity stripe. Huntington went 15/44 from the field for 34%- including 5/17 from the arc. They were also 11/24 at the foul line.

Unioto won the rebounding battle 39-26, but also committed 18 turnovers to only 12 for Huntington.

The Lady Tanks improve to (12-1/17-4) and will host conference champion (13-0/18-2) Southeastern on Thursday. A Southeastern win will give them their third straight undisputed title, where a Unioto victory would allow them to share the crown. 94 Country WKKJ will broadcast the game with airtime approximately 6:15pm.

Unioto 59: Summer Sigman 16, Carly Adkins 13, Emily Coleman 9, Cree Stulley 9, Amber Cottrill 7, Jocie Fisher 4, Amanda McGlone 1

Huntington 46: Braiden Collins 16, Shyanne Conley 13, Kelsey McDonald 9, Emily Haubeil 3, Riley Black 3.
