Carrie Underwood kicked off Super Bowl LII with a special performance of “The Champion.”
In a pre-recorded package, the country superstar performed the official song of the Super Bowl just before NBC’s Big Game coverage began.
The clip also featured footage highlighting the Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots and other legendary moments in NFL history with appearances by Emmitt Smith, Joe Montana and coach Vince Lombardi.
“The Champion” will also serve as the theme song for NBC’s coverage of the Winter Olympics, beginning with the opening ceremony Friday (Feb. 9) from South Korea.
Carrie has performed the theme song for NBC's Sunday Night Football series for the past five years.
