Dayton Power & Light will close two coal-fired plants in Adams County by the middle of next year.
In a statement, the company says that unless market conditions change dramatically, the plants will not be economically viable beyond mid-2018.
The J.M. Stuart and Killen stations have almost 400 employees and another 200 contract workers who will be affected by the closures.
