Rash of Vehicle Thefts Under Investigation in Ross County

Ross County authorities are investigating a rash of vehicle thefts from the northeastern part of the county.

Sheriff George Lavender says five vehicles were stolen during the early morning hours on Thursday, May 11th between Kingston and Adelphi.

The thefts appear to have started around 4:00 a.m. Thursday with one vehicle stolen in Kingston, then another in Adelphi, and then finally three more in the Village of Laurelville. Each time the thief would leave the previous vehicle at the scene of the next crime. All of the stolen vehicles were left unlocked with the keys inside.

Lavender says they have two people in custody in connection with the case. Sunshine Eblin, 30, of Chillicothe, was found driving the last of the stolen vehicles. She has been charged with Receiving Stolen Property.

A passenger in the vehicle, Tony Carmona, 20, of Chillicothe, was taken into custody on warrants out of Pickaway and Pike Counties. He is also charged with Obstruction.

Sheriff Lavender is urging the community to lock their vehicles and not leave valuables or the keys inside.
