Four Injured in Two-vehicle Pike Crash

(Piketon) -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle injury crash that occurred on SR-32 near US 23 in Pike County at 0839 hrs.

A 2017 Kia Sportage, driven by Marilee Borum, 72, of Phelps Kentucky, was attempting to cross SR 32 from the US 23 southbound exit ramp.  Borum failed to yield and was struck by a 2005 Chevy Silverado traveling eastbound on SR 32. The Silverado was driven by Zachary Chandler, 22, of Piketon Ohio.

Borum was transported to Pike Adena by Pike County EMS. Her passengers, David Showalter, 73, of Phelps Kentucky, was transported to Huntington Cabell by Air Evac. Judith Showalter, 69, of Phelps Kentucky, was transported to Adena Pike by Portsmouth Ambulance. 

Zachary Chandler was transported to the Adena Pike by Pike County EMS. All injuries appeared to non-life threatening. 

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by, Waverly Fire Department, Pike County EMS, Portsmouth Ambulance, Pike County Sheriff’s Office and Piketon Police Department.
