OAG Sues 5 Drug Companies

24/7 News Source (Columbus) - Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is suing five drug makers over the opioid addiction epidemic in the state.

"It is a human tragedy of epic proportion, ripping families apart, tearing at the fabric of our communities, and holding our state back."

The lawsuit was filed in Chillicothe, Wednesday, against Purdue Pharma, Endo Health Solutions, Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Cephalon Pharmaceuticals, and Allergan Pharmaceuticals.

DeWine said the drug companies put profit above the health and well being of the people of Ohio and misled health officials about the addiction risks.

"These drug companies knew that what they were saying was wrong, but they did it anyway and they continue to do so," said DeWine.
