Ross Lake Search Leads to Arrest of Ross County Man

The recent search of Ross Lake for the body of one of Chillicothe's missing women has led to an arrest of a Ross County man on a charge of Inducing Panic.

Ross County Sheriff, George Lavender, reports that Jeremy Ault, 38, of Lakewood Drive, was arrested by the Chillicothe Police Department, Monday morning.

The arrest was a result of an investigation by the Ross County Sheriff’s Office and Chillicothe Police Department that started on August 24th after the Chillicothe Police Department received a Facebook message from an account that said they had information that the body of Wanda Lemmons had been dumped in Ross lake in Eastern Ross County.

Multiple agencies went to Ross Lake on Friday and Saturday of last week and searched the waters and the surrounding area. Nothing was found.

Early Monday morning investigators were able to obtain search warrants that led them to Mr. Ault. Investigators made contact with Mr. Ault at his home and he gave a full confession.

The investigation is ongoing and further Felony charges will be filed by the Ross County Sheriff’s Office at the completion of the investigation.

The search of the lake has been called off. Sheriff Lavender and Police Chief Washburn want to express their appreciation to the numerous groups and organizations that assisted during this investigation.
