Circleville Woman Dies of Gunshot Wound (Update)

A Circleville woman died late Friday night of an apparent gunshot wound, and a man allegedly in a relationship with her has been taken into custody.

44-year-old Amy L. Diehl of 311 Tarlton Road Circleville, was pronounced dead on arrival at Berger Hospital after she being transported from her residence.

Pickaway County Sheriff Robert Radcliff reported in a press release, that the sheriff's office received a call at 11:49pm, stating the "victim had been injured by a gunshot wound".

The Pickaway County Sheriff's Department has charged 44-year-old James Johnathan McVey with having weapons under disability. 

Prosecutor Judy Wolford and Coroner Dr. John Ellis were at the scene of the incident, where an autopsy was ordered. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation also is assisting in the investigation.
