(24/7 News Source) -- Pike County sheriff's deputies suspect foul play in the disappearance of a 77-year-old woman.  Deputies say they may have found human remains Tuesday night near Latham after getting a tip about Bernice Hayslip's apparent death.

Hayslip has been missing for more than a year.

Her daughter, Tracy Sowards, was arrested on misuse of credit card charges and is a person of interest.

Pike County Prosecutor, Rob Junk, has confirmed that search warrants were executed by the Pike County Sheriff on Tuesday were for Johnny Kerns and Tracy Sowards. Those search warrants were executed on Hackleshin Road and the 2300 block of Lapperell Road.

The sheriff confirmed that cadaver dogs brought in from Manchester alerted their handlers to a specific spot on the Lapperell Road property. That location being the site of an old burn pile and the Pike County Coroner has been called to that scene.
