One Person Injured in 4-Vehicle Crash Near Waverly

A four vehicle injury crash blocked traffic on U.S. Route 23 for more than two hours, just north of Waverly, Monday night.

The Ohio Highway Patrol reports that 28-year-old Andrew T. Finley of Waverly was driving out of a private drive onto Route 23 when he failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle driven by 51-year-old Melissa A. True of Chillicothe, crashing into the True vehicle.

Ms. True’s vehicle then drove into the southbound lanes and struck a guardrail. Finley’s vehicle spun out of control and came to final rest in the middle of US 23.

At that point, 74-year-old Martha E. Padgett of Otway, struck Finley’s vehicle, causing her to drive into the southbound lanes of US 23 and striking a car driven by 55-year-old Laura A. Roberts of Waverly.

Ms. True was transported to the Adena Pike Medical Center for her injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Pike County Sheriff’s Office, Pike County EMS and Pee-Pee Township Fire Department responded to the scene to assist.
