Family Homeless Shelter Set to Open December 18th

Seeds of Hope will open their new 16-bed Ross County family shelter on December 18th.

More than $80,000 has been donated to build this family shelter, known as "Jackie's House", named for a volunteer who unexpectedly passed away in 2016.

Single homeless men will continue to be directed to the Ross Community Action Men's Shelter.

December 9th and 10th are moving days. Volunteers are needed to help move items from four different locations of storage, into the new shelter.

A ribbon cutting ceremony is planned for December 13th at 4pm, with the Chamber of Commerce.

Sunday December 17th will be an Open House from 1pm-3pm, with refreshments and tours of the new 16-bed facility. On Monday December 18th, Seeds of Hope will open and start taking in homeless clients.

They are still in need of volunteers at the shelter.  They are always in need of donated items such as toiletries, household items, and hygiene products.  Until January 1st, the Seeds of Hope phone number will remain (740) 774-1200.  However, there will be a new published number announced soon.

Their website is www.seedsofhopeohio.org.
