Juvenile Arrested In Threat Against Circleville Schools

A 14-year-old juvenile has been arrested in connection with a threat of violence against Circleville City Schools. The Circleville Police Department investigated the threat after it was made known at 3:30pm Thursday afternoon. 

The juvenile is being held at the Juvenile Detention Facility pending their initial appearance in Pickaway County Juvenile Court. The juvenile is charged with Inducing Panic, a second-degree felony.

According to a press release on their Facebook page, "The Circleville Police Department takes all threats to public safety very seriously. Even with the arrest you will see an increased officer presence at the schools Friday, dedicated to keeping our children safe and we are working closely with other agencies in this effort". 

The statement continued with "We encourage anyone who comes across any type of threat to immediately contact the Circleville Police Department. The community is cautioned to refrain from sharing any uninvestigated rumor on their social media networks or by word of mouth to mitigate the spread of falsities."
