Chillicothe Auction of City Equipment Taking Place This Week

The City of Chillicothe is hosting its online auction of city-owned equipment this week. Online bidding is open until 7:30 p.m. this Thursday, June 14th at auctionohio.com.

Steve Hummel, Point of Contact for the auction, says the online portion of this week's auction is for miscellaneous pieces of equipment.

"Online bidding is in process as we speak," said Hummel. "I think there are 230 lots of miscellaneous merchandise featuring everything from welding machines to pavers. There are bicycles, tablets, park benches, lumber, traffic lights, traffic signs, and jewelry."

This Saturday, June 16th, there will be a live auction for larger pieces of equipment and vehicles. The live auction begins at 11:00 a.m. in the parking lot across from Ball Diamond #1 in Chillicothe's Yoctangee Park.

"Right now, we have 40 vehicles and pieces of equipment that are in that auction," said Hummel. "We have buses, dump trucks, pickup trucks, lawn mowers, a street sweeper, a backhoe, and a pumper truck and more."
