There's been an unstoppable '90s culture resurgence over the past few years. From bright neon colors and scrunchies making their way back into the fashion lexicon, it's not surprising that the nostalgia has bubbled up in the entertainment industry, as well. There's been reboots of beloved television shows and remakes of classic '90s movies, too. Have you ever wondered, though, what your state's favorite movie was during the '90s? Frontier Bundles looked at the 20 highest-earning movies from 1990 to 1999 to figure out which classic '90s film was the most popular in every U.S. state.
During their study, Frontier Bundles made some interesting observations about each state's affinities for '90s classics. For example, many of the states were much more inclined to favor films that either took place in or were filmed in that state. New York's favorite '90s film was Ghost, which was set in New York City. Hawaii searched for Jurassic Park more than any other state. Much of that movie was filmed on the island of Kauai, aka the “Garden Isle.”
