New Winner for the 2018 Pumpkin Show Giant Pumpkin Contest

The champion pumpkin at this year's Circleville Pumpkin Show tips the scales at more-than three-quarters of a ton.

Mark Litz is this year's winner, with a giant pumpkin weighing 1,607 pounds. It is the second year Litz has entered the competition.

2nd place this year went to Bob Brown for his 1,548 pound pumpkin. Mark Hoffhines was third with a 1,331.5 pound entry.

Last year's champion pumpkin, grown by Cecil Weston, weighed 1,701 pounds. It was his second consecutive title.

As prodigious as Litz's pumpkin may be, it isn't the largest of all time. That title belongs to Bob Liggett's 2014 pumpkin that weighed 1,964 pounds.
