Larry Cox Turkey Trot to be Held November 22nd, Seeks Runners

An annual memorial run to honor a fallen Chillicothe Police Officer is set to take place once again in late November.

The Larry Cox Turkey Trot takes place on Thursday, November 22nd from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The run is held each year to honor the memory of Chillicothe Police Officer Larry Cox who was shot and killed in 2005 while off duty but assisting in a foot pursuit of an armed suspect.

Last year’s Larry Cox Turkey Trot saw 800 runners participating and organizers are hoping for even more this year.

The annual  Larry Cox Turkey Trot is put on by Southern Ohio Crimestoppers and funds raised through the event help fund its efforts in helping law enforcement in offering rewards for tips in unsolved cases.
