Opportunity for Ohio Veterans to Earn HS Diploma

The Chillicothe City Schools Board of Education will be awarding high school diplomas to Ohio veterans or to the living relative of a deceased veteran. To receive a diploma, a veteran must have served during the period of September 16, 1940, through December 31, 1946, in World War II, or during the Korean Conflict, from June 27, 1950, to January 31, 1955. 


Diplomas are also available for veterans of the Vietnam War from August 5, 1964, through May 7, 1975.


To be eligible, a veteran must have received an honorable discharge from any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces.


Applications for the diplomas are available by contacting the local Veterans Service Commission Office at the Ross County Service Center. 


Applicants wishing to receive a Chillicothe High School Diploma and participate in a special ceremony scheduled for November 26 should have completed and returned their application by mail to Deborah Swinehart at the Chillicothe City Schools, 425 Yoctangee Parkway, Chillicothe, OH 45601, by November 19.
