Stephen A. Neal Jr. has been appointed Ross County Treasurer, to complete the unexpired term of Jerry Byers, who retired from the treasurer’s office on November 30th.

The Ross County Democratic Party announced that he was sworn in Wednesday.  Neal recently served 7 years as the Chief Deputy County Recorder for Ross County, and is the son of County Commissioner Steve Neal.

Neal said “I am excited to have the opportunity to serve the residents of Ross County in this important office. I have big shoes to fill, but I am prepared to work hard to make sure the taxpayers continue to get the service that they have come to expect and deserve from their County treasurer’s office.”

The primary duties of the County treasurer are to collect, protect and invest county funds.
