The new director of the Ohio Department of Agriculture will be in Ross County next week.
Dorothy Pelanda will be stopping for a meet-and-greet hosted by the Ross County Soil and Water Conservation District, this coming Monday, February 11th at 9:30 a.m. at the Ross County Service Center. No reservation is necessary.
"It's a good opportunity to have a conversation with our new director and pick her brain and see what her philosophy is, and where we're going to take Ohio agriculture under her leadership," said Chris Bruynis of the OSU Extension Agency.
Pelanda was selected as the Ag Department's director following the firing of former long-time director David Daniels last year. Daniels was ousted by then Gov. John Kasich because of his resistance to the governor's anti-algal bloom policies.
