Ribbon Cutting for New Drug Treatment Facility

A new drug treatment facility had its ribbon-cutting Tuesday afternoon. The former craft mall by the water tower overlooking the hospital is now a 36-bed men's in-patient drug treatment facility.

Lori Huston, the director of the new "Rulon Center," said many patients get out-patient care for a few hours a few times a week. Instead, the Rulon Center is residential where the patients will live there - and get fed, get laundry service, and live in a community.

It's part of the Scioto Paint Valley Mental Health Center, whose headquarters are beside Adena Regional Medical Center.

Huston says most of the patients will be court-referred, and need strong guidance. She says an activities director will help them get out of a negative life, feel ok in recovery, and learn how to have fun.

The Scioto Paint Valley Mental Health Center also operates a 12-bed women's drug treatment facility in Greenfield.
