The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash which occurred at 2:45pm Friday on U.S. Route 35 in Concord Township in Ross County.
A Kia Sorento driven by 76-year-old Edward A. Madison of Mason, along with his passenger and wife 76-year-old Shirley H. Madison, were traveling eastbound in the left lane when their vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, overcorrected and traveled back onto the roadway. The Kia struck a Ford Excursion, driven by 59-year-old Christopher D. Fisher of Oak Hill, Ohio, which was also traveling eastbound in the right lane.
Both vehicles traveled off the right side of the roadway before Fisher’s vehicle overturned multiple times. The Madison’s vehicle traveled back across the roadway and into the median where Mr. Fisher was ejected from his vehicle and pronounced deceased by EMS on scene. Mr. and Mrs. Madison refused medical treatment.
ODOT temporarily closed both eastbound lanes of US-35 for a short period of time. The right lane of US-35 eastbound was closed for approximately 3 hours.
