Adena School Placed in Lockdown Due to Pellet Gun on Campus, Three Charged

Three Adena students have been arrested and charged with inducing panic after one of the students brought a pellet gun to school, Thursday.

The Ross County Sheriff confirmed that Adena Local School was placed in “lockdown” mode Thursday morning following a report of an Airsoft pellet gun being brought to the school campus.

Two male students and a one female student have been charged. Authorities say one of the three brought the pellet gun to school to sell to one of the others.

Sheriff George Lavender reported late Thursday morning that all students and staff were safe and there was no report of a violent incident involving anyone with the pellet gun.

The lockdown has since been lifted and the sheriff is stationing personnel at the campus through the rest of the school day, Thursday.
