Ross County Idol, Jr. Idol Contest Applications Now Being Accepted

-

The organizers of Chillicothe’s Feast of the Flowering Moon are now accepting applications for this year’s Ross County Idol & Junior Idol competitions.

-

Those annual contests take place throughout the duration of "The Feast" with contestants age 16 and older participating in the Idol competition, and those 11 to 15 years of age taking part in the Junior Idol.

-

The top three winners in each division will receive a monetary prize along with a trophy. First place for the Idol contest gets $1000 with a prize of $500 going to the first place finisher in the Junior Idol division.

-

Spots in the competitions are limited so once the applications are received, auditions for the contests will take place on Saturday, May 11th at the Majestic Theatre. Contestants will be required to sing an a capella rendition of a song of their choice. The auditions will begin at 11:00 a.m. for Junior Idol contestants and at 12:30 p.m. for the Idol contestants. A list of the finalists will be uploaded to the festivals website, www.feastofthefloweringmoon.org, on Sunday, May 12th.

-

Those interested in auditioning, as permitted by their parent or legal guardian, can review the official rules and obtain copies of the entry form by visiting the festival’s aforementioned website. Advance registration is encouraged but entries will be accepted up until the day of the auditions. There is a $15 dollar entry fee to participate which goes to cover the cost of the prizes.
