Pioneer Center's Annual Poker Run This Saturday

Motorcycle riders and baseball enthusiasts are being called together this Saturday to benefit the Ross County Pioneer School.

The Pioneer Center's annual Poker Run takes place at noon this Saturday and will be followed by it's "Dime-A-Dog Baseball Game."

Andy Newland helps with the poker run. He says he enjoys how much the kids love seeing the bikes.

"The bikes got involved through a group we used to ride with and then we just sort of carried it on," said Newland. "It's something I really enjoy. I love it! Those kids are amazing! They see the bikes and their faces just light up, and then when we come back, they look even more excited. It's great."

Once the ride concludes at 3:00 p.m., students and staff will then take to the ball field for a student and teacher baseball game, with Chillicothe Tumbleweed on hand serving up ten-cent hot dogs while supplies last.

"Concessions open around 3:00 p.m. with the Dime-A-Dog Baseball game starting at 4:00 p.m.," said Pioneer Recreations Director, Rick McConnell. "The game typically is between staff and students, or any adults that like to participate."

While the game is underway, attendees will also be able to enjoy at 50/50 drawing and silent auction.
