The (11-14) Huntington Huntsmen go from being the 6th place team in the SVC Baseball regular season, to now playing for the Division 4 District Championship May 22nd, after the Huntsmen beat top seed (19-6) Eastern Meigs 6-5.

-

Huntington scored a single run in every inning, but the sixth. The Eagles scored one in the second, three in the fourth and a run in the 6th, but Huntington's run in the top of the 7th proved to be the game-winner. That was Elijah McCloskey scoring from second base on a wild pitch, when the Eastern catcher was unable to find the ball at the backstop.

.

Weston Roop was the only Huntsmen with two hits- tagging an RBI single and scored a run. He had another single in the game. Elijah McCloskey had one hit, but reached base three times and scored twice.

.

Gavin Free took over for starter Elijah McCloskey in relief, working one-and-two-thirds innings in relief to get the victory. He yielded only one run.

.

The line score was Huntington 6 runs/7 hits/1 error. Eastern Meigs had 5 runs/6 hits/4 errors

.

Huntington faces defending regional champion Whiteoak, after they advanced with a win over Waterford. This will be Huntington Baseball's first district title appearance since 2008. Whiteoak defeated Waterford 9-0 in Monday's other semifinal game.
