Ross Commissioners File Suit Against Contractor Over Law Complex Renovation

-

Ross County has filed a lawsuit against the contractor hired to perform renovations to the Ross County Law Complex.

-

The company hired to perform the work, Palmetto Construction Services LLC, defaulted on the contract earlier this year. Crews were pulled off the job in February after allegations of poor workmanship against the company.

-

The work entailed renovations to the building’s interior and exterior and included upgrades to building systems, roof work, wall repair and expansions of space within the jail.

-

The $8.7-million in renovations were to be done in multiple phases and were to take approximately 1 year to complete.

-

The lawsuit, filed by the Ross County Commissioners in Ross County Court of Common Pleas alleges Palmetto Construction LLC breached its contract with the County by failing to meet the required specifications of its contract, and that the company failed to remedy the breaches.
