Hillsboro Man Receives Minor Injuries in Crash with Fleeing Driver on I-75

A Hillsboro man is recouping after suffering minor injuries in an auto-collision along Interstate 75, northeast of Cincinnati.

A trooper with the Cincinnati Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisting a tow truck driver and a disabled motorist on Interstate 75 northbound, in the City of Evendale.

Both vehicles were stationary and displaying emergency lights.The Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a 2004 Cadillac DTS, operated by Jamie A. Green, age 31, of Cincinnati, Ohio who failed to move over when approaching stationary public safety vehicle displaying emergency lights.

The trooper activated his overhead lights and siren to initiate a traffic stop and the vehicle fled the scene.The motor vehicle pursuit continued north on Interstate 75 with speeds reaching 100 MPH.The vehicle exited onto State Route 122 in Middletown, Ohio where stop sticks were unsuccessfully deployed by the Middletown Police Department.

The vehicle then merged back onto Interstate 75 and headed southbound. An attempt was made by Ohio State Troopers on Interstate 75 southbound at the Hamilton-Butler County Line to deploy stops sticks but the driver avoided the stop sticks.

The motor vehicle pursuit continued south on Interstate 75.A successful deployment of stop sticks was made by Sharonville Police Department just north of Sharon Road.After making contact with the stop sticks the vehicle attempted to exit the interstate and struck a 2005 Nissan Sentra, operated by Dareck Kunce, age 50, of Hillsboro Ohio. Both vehicles traveled off the right side of the interstate and struck a highway traffic sign.

Mrs. Green was taken into custody without incident. Mr. Kunce received minor injuries and was treated and released at the scene by Sharonville Fire & EMS. Mrs. Green had two outstanding warrants for arrest and she was charged with fleeing and eluding and three misdemeanor charges.
