Former Hillsboro Council President to Lead Safety & Service Department

-

A personnel change within the Hillsboro Safety Service Department is being announced.

-

A release from the Mayor’s Office on Tuesday stated that Safety Service Director Mel McKenzie will be leaving that position to take up a new post with a local firm involved in community development.

-

In the meantime, the position will now be filled by former city council member and president, and local law enforcement official, Dick Donley. Mr. Donley will serve as Safety Service Director until the conclusion of the mayor’s current term in office.

-

“Mel has been a capable and valuable employee, and although I hate to see him go, I fully understand his need to accept a timely opportunity when it arises. I am also very pleased Dick has accepted to fill this position. His background and experience will ensure a seamless transition,” stated Mayor Drew Hastings.
