Officials Report Lower APR for Construction of New Jail

24/7 News Source (Washington Courthouse, OH) -- Officials say taxpayers in Fayette County will have to pay less for the construction of a new jail. County Commissioner Tony Anderson said the interest rate for the loan to fund construction is lower than expected. The payback of the loan was originally estimated to be at an annual percentage rate of four percent but has dropped and is now three-point-five percent. With the new lower APR, residents will see a savings of one-point-five million dollars as the county repays the loan.
