24/7 News Source (Waverly, OH) -- The Pike County Democratic Party is appointing an interim sheriff to replace Charles Reader who is under suspension. Former Piketon Police Chief Jim Nelson was named interim sheriff after a committee vote, Thursday. Nelson will take over for Reader, who is currently under indictment on 16 counts. Nelson has experience in law enforcement having spent time working with the Sheriff's Department and the Pike County Prosecutor's office.
