Several People Injured in Pike County Two-Vehicle Crash

Several people were injured in a Pike County crash between a three-wheel motorcycle and a car, Monday at approximately 4:55pm. The crash occurred at the intersection of State Route 32 and State Route 104.

A Honda Goldwing three-wheeled motorcycle, operated by 70-year-old Neal Kirby of Lewisburg, Kentucky, was attempting to turn northbound onto State Route 104 from eastbound on State Route 32. A Honda CR-V, driven by 51-year-old Rocrialma Sheffield of Amelia, Ohio, was traveling westbound on Route 32. After it failed to yield while turning left, the motorcycle was struck by the SUV. The SUV overturned several times on SR 32.

Kirby and his passenger, 66-year-old Betty Kirby, were thrown from the motorcycle. Mr. Kirby was flown by HealthNet helicopter to Grant Hospital in Columbus. Mrs. Sheffield was taken by Med Flight to the University of Cincinnati Hospital in Cincinnati. The other occupants of the SUV, 51-year-old Rodney Sheffield and three juveniles, were transported to Adena Pike Medical Center in Waverly. Mrs. Kirby was also taken to Adena Pike Medical Center.

State Route 32 westbound and State Route 104 southbound were shut down for approximately 90 minutes. State Route 32 eastbound was shut down for approximately 60 minutes. All lanes have been reopened.
