City Officials Seeking Ways to Boost Interest in Smaller Parks

Chillicothe officials are looking at ways to generate more community interest in some of their smaller parks. Many of the smaller city parks no longer have the ball diamonds they once had, which brought regularly scheduled events to them.

"If you haven't seen some of (the) playgrounds, whether it's the Manor or Strawser Park or Poland Park or Southern Playground, there really are a lot across the city, and they're all very nice," said Chillicothe Mayor Luke Feeney.

-

Mayor Feeney said disc golf is now a park feature, and they are considering an idea from bicyclists who would like a pump path put in. He explained that a pump path is "a little loop of a bike path that you can go up and down on."

The mayor says input from the community is always encouraged.
