The Chillicothe Cavaliers presented some tough match ups for Kyle Bradley’s Warriors Monday night. One of the toughest was guarding 6’8” senior Brandon Noel, who was able to get to the rim for 25 points.

.

The other match up problem for the Warriors was the Cavs length and quickness as they got in the passing lanes and forced 22 Adena turnovers.

.

Adena matched the taller Cavaliers early and trailed only 13-11 after one quarter. Chillicothe got their transition game in full gear in the second forcing turnovers and completing two long outlet passes to go on a 8-0 run to begin the second stanza.

.

Chillicothe led 36-24 at the half and took total control in the third period out scoring the Warriors 20-8.

.

The Cavaliers blistered the nets on 31 of 50 shots for 62%. The Cavs were 9 of 10 from the foul line and only committed 11 turnovers. Adena shot it pretty well with 17 of 35 for 49% and were 6 of 19 from the three point line.

.

The Warriors suffered hitting just 4 of 11 on free throws and the 22 turnovers killed Adena with most being turned in to easy Chillicothe baskets.

.

The Cavaliers were led by Noel’s 25 and Jayvon Maughmer’s 13. Senior Vincent Roper had a stellar game with 11 points and a defensive effort that created many Warrior turnovers.

.

Adena was led by Logan Bennett with 13 points. Sophomore Dillon McDonald came off the bench (replacing an injured Garrett Garrison) and knocked in 6 points. Nine Warriors scored on the night.

.

Chillicothe is now 4-0 and travels to Miami Trace Tuesday night. Adena falls to 1-1 on the season.
