Man Removing Carcass from SR 772 Gets Struck

A Bainbridge man was flown to a hospital after an accident in State Route 772, Thursday. Authorities say Michael Brown, 62, of Bainbridge, was driving southbound along SR 772 at around 6:03 p.m. but stopped to remove a dead deer from the road. Authorities say another southbound motorist, Bobby Waterbury, 79, of Chillicothe, tried to slow to avoid colliding with stopped traffic but lost control, went partially off the road, hit a guardrail, hit Brown as Brown was removing the carcass, and struck Brown's vehicle.

Brown was flown to OSU hospital, while Waterbury was treated at the scene, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash remains under investigation.
