US 35 Traffic Accident Claims Two Lives

Two people died as a result of a crash on US 35 in Ross County, Friday. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Joshua Eggers, 18, of Jackson, was eastbound along US 35 (east of US 50) just before 11 p.m. when his car went off the left side of the road, through the median, and into the westbound lanes of US 35. Authorities said Eggers' car was subsequently hit by a westbound car driven by Penny Schreck, 45, of Oak Hill.

Authorities confirmed Eggers was pronounced dead at the scene, while Schreck, who suffered serious injuries, later died at the hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
