(18-4) Unioto advanced to the Division 2 District Semis with a 54-42 win over (12-11) River Valley for the sectional crown at Adena High School, Thursday night. The win puts the Lady Shermans up against Vinton County on February 20th at Southeastern High School in the district semis, after the Lady Vikings handled Chillicothe 71-39 at Logan High School.

Unioto sprinted out of the gate to an 8-0 lead and never trailed in the game, leading 16-8 after the first quarter, 23-16 at half, 40-30 after three and the 54-42 final.

Unioto played "sluggish" for much of the first half, before getting it into gear in the second half. Unioto committed 17 turnovers in the contest, but forced River Valley to commit 27.

The Lady Shermans shot 13/31 from the field for 42%- including 7/10 from the arc and 9/16 at the foul line. The Lady Raiders were 18/43 for 42%- including 6/14 from the arc and 12/17 at the line. The rebounding edge went to River Valley 25-22.

Unioto was led by Emily Coleman's 17 points, while Cree Stulley logged-in with 13 points and 8 rebounds. 8 Unioto players were in the scoring column. River Valley was led by Hannah Jacks' 13 points/12 rebounds, while Lauren Twyman added 11.
