Unioto & Zane Trace Share SVC Basketball Title With Impressive Wins

Zane Trace and Unioto have both locked up SVC boys basketball titles with big wins Friday. The Pioneers were 71-45 winners at Southeastern while the Shermans handled Westfall 61-30, with both teams finishing with identical (13-1) records.

Zane Trace 71, Southeastern 45

The Panthers took an early 5-2 lead and were tied 7-7, when Zane Trace went on a 10-0 run and never trailed again. ZT led 21-13 after one period, 42-21 at half, then 61-32 after three and the final of 71-45.

.

The Pioneers were led by Cameron Evans 27 points, with Nick Nesser adding 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Luke Johnson had 11 points and 8 rebounds. Southeastern was led by their lone senior- Aaron Gillum's 12 points. Cameron Hall added 9.

.

ZT shot 32/60 for 53%, which included 5/14 behind the arc and 2/4 at the foul line. Southeastern shot 16/36 for 44%- including 3/11 at the arc and 10/13 at the line. Zane Trace won the rebounding battle 29-17. SE had 13 turnovers and ZT with 7.

Zane Trace concludes the regular season at (13-1/19-3). Southeastern is (3-11/4-17).

Unioto 61, Westfall 30

The Shermans jumped out of the gate with a big lead early and stayed in control the entire night. Unioto led 18-4 after one quarter, 35-12 at half and were up by 30+ points in the second half.

Unioto's record improved to (13-1/19-3) and Westfall dropped to (5-9/10-12)

.

The Shermans had two players in double figures. Jeremy Lambert led with 13 points, Reece Wheeler pitched-in 11 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, while Isaac Little had 9 points and Cameron Debord with 8.
