Two Arrested on Felony Drug Charges in Pickaway County Traffic Stop

Two men are facing felony drug charges as the result of a traffic stop in Pickaway County from over the weekend.

According to Pickaway County Sheriff Robert B. Radcliff, on Saturday, March 7th at around 1:45 a.m.. Deputies Seth Thomas and Ryan Howard initiated a traffic stop on a 2004 Saturn operated by Jeffrey O. Linton, 45, of Wellston for a traffic violation. The Saturn was stopped on U.S. Route 23 near the area of Island Road.

The two deputies made contact with Mr. Linton and his passenger, Scottie D. McClaskey 48, of Colton. A third deputy Sgt Kyle Eveland, assisted at the scene by running his K9 partner Edguy around the Saturn for a free air sniff. K9 Officer Edguy alerted on the vehicle.

The deputies searched the inside of the Saturn and located a plastic cup sitting in the vehicle’s center console. Inside the plastic cup they located a plastic bag containing approximately 16 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Both Mr. Linton and Mr. McClaskey were placed under arrest and taken to the Pickaway County Jail. They were each charged with Trafficking in a Schedule I or II Drug and Possession of a Schedule I or II Drug, both Felonies of the 2nd Degree.
