Robbery and Burglary Suspect Nabbed in Pike County

A Waverly man has been arrested in connection to a series of burglaries and thefts out of Pike and Ross counties.

Michael Blakeman is in the Ross County Jail on charges of robbery in Ross County along with a charge of having an outstanding warrant from the Ohio Department of Corrections for a parole violation. Pike County is still investigating his possible involvement for burglaries and thefts on Strickland Road.

Pike County deputies were called to the Strickland Road area on the morning of March 12th, where Blakeman was seen walking along the road carrying multiple items. Once he was contacted by Pike deputies, Blakeman fled on foot into some nearby woods.

Just before 10am, a home security camera detected Blakeman breaking into a residence on State Route 772, where he was later apprehended by law enforcement personnel.
